Job description

Overview

Our client is a well established European and road freight operator with over 80 trucks and over 120 trailers in its fleet. They are a well-known brand in the freight industry known for their high level, service driven services covering the Benelux countries for almost 55 years.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients via email predominantly or via the phone / website and provide a quotation for the shipment, then engage with the customer to obtain the booking, building relationships with these clients.
• On receipt of the booking, create that booking within the system and manage the customers' expectations in terms of collection and delivery dates based on geographical awareness and understanding of the fleet's location and availability.
• Engage and interact with that client for each booking from start to finish including generating the invoice once delivered.
• Maintain ongoing communication with various European based teams to ensure ultimately the customer receives the highest possible level of service.
• Act as the sole point of contact for all clients within the Manchester office for all UK export requirements, handling a large volume of email traffic each day and working under pressure whilst multi-tasking.

Qualifications

Experience of road freight is required to effectively come in, learn the systems and processes while having that understanding of the industry and hit the ground running.

An understanding of Customs requirements is an advantage, but no entries will be generated by you; the awareness of what is required and why is important to ensure a smooth flow between the customer, and our Customs team from start to finish would be ideal.
