Job description

Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, the North West team is recruiting for Risk Managers to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is at the forefront of industry-leading change, and we are keen to speak to like-minded individuals with risk management experience to see what Turner & Townsend can offer you. Candidates will be required to be present in our client office in Warrington for 3 days per week.

A Risk Manager will support the team and senior risk managers for work packages and projects of varying size and complexity. Work packages may vary in size, with risk managers working across smaller projects or larger ones. Responsibilities include accurate risk data capture, threat and opportunity assessment, and maintaining visibility of risk trigger points to facilitate risk profiling, budget management, and threat/opportunity retirement. Ensuring client objectives are met and projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards is essential.

As a Risk Manager, your services may include:

  1. Planning, designing, and implementing risk management processes tailored to client needs and aligned with best practices.
  2. Facilitating risk workshops with subject matter experts.
  3. Creating and maintaining risk registers and other risk information.
  4. Challenging risk data to ensure robustness.
  5. Driving mitigation actions across projects and programmes.
  6. Assisting project teams with developing measurable and specific management responses.
  7. Conducting Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) for cost and schedule impacts.
  8. Demonstrating competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA, or similar.
  9. Producing timely risk reports using tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Power BI, and familiarity with web-based reporting tools.
  10. Collaborating with other Project Controls disciplines for aligned project information.

Requirements include professional risk management experience across project lifecycles, with nuclear experience being desirable but not mandatory. Candidates should be able to adapt risk strategies, communicate complex information effectively, and be familiar with risk systems like Safran, @risk, PRA. Strategic thinking and critical assessment skills are essential. Additional requirements:

  • Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IRM, APM).
