A leading international engineering company is looking for graduates for their Risk Management Graduate Programme. Over two years, you'll rotate through various placements, developing expertise in risk management and project controls while receiving dedicated mentorship and training. Starting salary is £35,000 with generous benefits including holiday, pension schemes, and wellbeing support.
Imagine helping deliver some of the UK's most complex and vital nuclear projects, where every decision shapes the safety and future of our communities. On our Risk Management Graduate Programme, you'll become an essential part of the team that keeps things running smoothly, safely and on time. Your journey with us will be full of variety and discovery.
One placement might see you in Warrington, where you'll work on the Process, Plant & Equipment Programme or support the Vault Retrievals Project. Another placement might take you to Glasgow to get involved with the Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) Framework. You'll have plenty of opportunities and exposure, from supporting high-profile bids for new work to developing your skills in risk modelling. Throughout each rotation, you'll work side-by-side with Project Controls and experienced Risk Managers, learning how to identify and assess project risks and playing your part in bringing critical national infrastructure to life. Every week brings new people, fresh perspectives and different experiences, and your ideas will always be welcomed.
How is the programme structured? Across two years, you'll rotate through a series of six-month placements that each offer something different. With every placement, you'll develop a deeper understanding of risk management — mastering risk identification, assessment, review, and modelling techniques in real environments. As you move through the programme, your confidence will grow, and so will your responsibility. By the end of your journey, you'll be ready to take on your own projects and make a meaningful difference to Cavendish Nuclear.
Cavendish Nuclear is a core part of Babcock International Group's Nuclear Sector. We provide a comprehensive range of critical nuclear solutions across Clean Energy, Defence and Civil Decommissioning, both in the UK and internationally. From decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants, our role is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments.
From day one, you’ll receive structured support, personalised training, and dedicated mentorship to help you excel throughout your programme and beyond.
You’ll join our Graduate Development Programme, featuring expert-led masterclasses on communication, personal branding, resilience, and wellbeing. You’ll be encouraged and sponsored to join the Association for Project Management, with opportunities to work towards recognised industry qualifications such as APM Project Management Fundamentals and APM Risk Levels One and Two. You’ll also take part in our in-house Quantitative Risk Analysis Bootcamp, giving you practical experience you can apply straight away.
