Hours: 37.5/week
Salary: circa £60,000 depending on experience
Location: Birmingham, Leeds or London
WFH policy: Employees are required to attend the office 2 days/week
Flexible working: Variety of flexible work patterns subject to line manager discretion e.g. Compressed 9-day fortnight.

Role Summary: In this role you will partner with Senior Leaders to execute and oversee a robust risk and control framework that helps identify and prioritises risks, and review effectiveness of significant internal controls across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head of Assurance and Risk in documenting, updating and facilitating discussion around Principal and Strategic Risks for the Executive and the Board.
- Support development and embedding effective controls, leveraging data and analytics to address identified risks and ensure alignment with business risk appetite.
- Guide risk and control owners on best practices.
- Lead training on risk management, mitigation, and control design.
- Working across the business to ensure that teams' operational risk registers are kept up to date, consistent, challenge first-line managers on risk identification and assessment and in aggregate that duplication and gaps are managed appropriately.
- Work with the business to identify nascent principal, strategic and operational risks.
- Design, implement and review significant internal controls (financial and operational) as a second line of defence.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA/IIA qualified or equivalent with prior risk management and internal controls experience.
- Experienced in assessing business risk and evaluating adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems, driving improvement and creating stronger business relationships, including RCSA processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); able to engage senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity and impartiality.
- Experience of achieving results through effective communication, influence, building and maintaining trust and developing effective relationships at all levels.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive, clear, concise reports, and ability to communicate effectively.
