Overview
An opportunity has become available for a Vice President to join our Risk Analytics team in London. The Risk Analytics team specializes in providing expert support to our clients, and their external legal counsel, when they face critical legal and regulatory challenges, whether that be a big-ticket litigation or high-stakes investigation by a national regulator. The work we do will form the basis of reports and advocacy to the Courts and Regulators, and therefore we apply a forensic standard, where attention to detail, creative thinking, and the ability to identify and challenge assumptions is of paramount importance. You will regularly work with teams of lawyers from top-tier international law firms and will be responsible for helping them understand and navigate the client's often complex technology and data landscape. We are looking for intelligent, pragmatic and results-focused individuals who can operate on a wide range of local and international engagements.
Responsibilities
- Understand the client's IT estate (both current and legacy) to understand how this functioned and identify relevant data from these systems that needs to be analysed.
- Analyse systems, data flows and algorithms to understand potential issues with these.
- Extract and analyse big data structured datasets from systems, turning huge volumes of data into easy-to-understand analysis and charts.
- Use technology and advanced data analytics to automate the rectification of business issues, avoiding the cost of manual processes.
- The work we do will form the basis of reports and advocacy to the Courts and Regulators, applying a forensic standard requiring attention to detail, creative thinking, and challenge of assumptions.
- You will regularly work with teams of lawyers from top-tier international law firms and will help them understand and navigate the client's complex technology and data landscape.
- You will work with complex data sets (financial, operational and otherwise) leading the production of fundamental results to be used by testifying experts, barristers, lawyers and senior stakeholders in courts and in front of regulators.
- You will be involved in the design, build and management of data models to solve complex business problems and will work directly with colleagues and clients to leverage true value from these data models.
- You will challenge data quality and completeness, the assumptions we make in developing our analysis and develop technical documentation which supports our conclusions.
- You will not only develop and build key tools for client delivery but will interface and liaise directly with our client and consultant group, demonstrating your expertise and mastery of the data. You and your stakeholder management are part of the solution.

Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering or other quantitative subject;
- A postgraduate degree in a quantitative subject;
- 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a professional business environment such as another consultancy with experience in IT, programming, data analytics, or similar.
- Enjoy the challenge of forensic investigations and high-profile disputes. Proficiency in Databricks SQL and Python (or other scripting languages) and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Ability to develop sophisticated and innovative solutions tailored to clients' needs, with awareness of recent technological developments including artificial intelligence techniques.
- Business acumen, client-facing ability, and capability to deliver with appropriate oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours and to work in a hybrid office/remote environment.
