Job summary

A leading healthcare foundation trust seeks a dynamic Consultant Rheumatologist to provide personalised care and support multidisciplinary teams. The role includes evaluating patient care, contributing to training of junior doctors, and the opportunity for research involvement. Candidates should possess full GMC registration and relevant qualifications. This position offers a chance to enhance high-quality rheumatology services across the trust's hospitals, with responsibilities in outpatient and inpatient consultations.

Qualifications

  • Clinical training equivalent to gaining UK CCST in Rheumatology.
  • Understanding and experience of all aspects of clinical governance.
  • Teaching medical undergraduates, postgraduates, nursing and other healthcare professionals.
  • Established expertise in a specialist field of rheumatology.
  • Experience in the design and analysis of clinical trials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised care for patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Respond to GP advice and guidance requests.
  • Triaging new referrals and providing ward consultations.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary teams and support education of junior doctors.

Skills

Ability to advise on the efficient and smooth running of a specialist service
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead, organise and manage
Computer-literate in Office applications
Knowledge of IT-based patient information systems

Education

Full registration with the GMC
CCST in Rheumatology (or within 3 months of date of interview)
MRCP (UK or Ireland)
PhD or MD
