Location and working arrangement

Depending on the needs of your business area we expect hub‑based people to be in the office at least once a week and to go to OVO Connection events in‑person. You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices – Bristol, Glasgow or London; unless your role requires field‑based work. Job brief

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented progressive Reward specialist to join our People team. This role offers immediate exposure to all areas of the business where you will help deliver and develop the total reward agenda. As our Reward Partner you’ll support the management of all aspects of employee reward & wellbeing, provide day‑to‑day guidance and insights to the business and within the People Team, and deliver wider reward initiatives and projects to serve our broader business goals.


Reporting to the Head of Reward, you will manage the execution of total reward to optimise attraction, engagement, productivity and retention of our key talent.


Key outcomes


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with People Partners to understand their plans and priorities, and provide relevant proactive reward solutions that are fair, competitive and aligned to the Company goals / enterprise‑wide Total Reward strategy.

  • Maintain the ongoing execution of our career level pay framework with experience of conducting job evaluation and benchmarking via Willis Towers Watson, providing job levelling and salary benchmarking proposals for job moves, promotions and salary reviews.

  • Act as a subject‑matter expert, key partner to stakeholders including the Head of Reward, People Partners, People Leadership Team, the OVO Leadership Team and other Leaders across OVO.

  • Assist in maintaining pay governance and compliance, staying ahead of legislation like NMW, pay transparency, equal pay and Working Time regulations.

  • Ensure the employee journey is clear and engaging by maintaining appropriate communication content and working closely with the internal communications team to plan engaging and targeted reward communications throughout the year.

  • Increase employee awareness, transparency and understanding of reward by supporting our business leaders and facilitating face‑to‑face sessions.

  • Work with the Head of Reward to manage the execution and delivery of cyclical reward projects including pay review, bonus, LTIP and the benefits cycle.

  • Assist and lead on a variety of tactical projects supporting business change, group transformational / M&A activity, system improvements, etc.

  • Partner with the finance team to ensure that key costs (e.g. bonus accrual, salary budgets) are correctly tracked, supporting the Head of Reward / PX Director in budget planning and administration.

  • Mentor other team members to share knowledge, upskill and build careers.

  • Develop and utilise data analysis, modelling and insights to drive informed decisions for key activity through the year such as pay review, bonus, gender pay reporting, annual benefit renewals and other policy updates.

  • Engage with our external providers to manage the administration and develop the total reward offering at OVO.

  • Maintain constructive dialogue with internal and external networks to identify key trends in the market; ensure our total reward propositions are best in class, providing appropriate input from external advisors and market data.

  • Monitor and analyse current policies and practices both internally and via external networks/insights to identify and make recommendations for improvement or change.

  • Advise on and handle relevant day‑to‑day queries from people partners, people leaders, payroll and our people across the business.

Qualifications


  • Have experience working across Total Reward in a large organisation.

  • Be confident working in a complex, fast‑paced, progressive environment.

  • Adapt, manage ambiguity and demonstrate resilience to work positively under pressure.

  • Have experience partnering with teams to understand, analyse and recommend Reward solutions that solve business problems.

  • Be a positive determiner and tenacious problem solver, always looking to improve things.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple time‑sensitive projects including but not limited to annual pay and bonus cycles.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to adapt and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and employees.

  • Confidence in articulating thoughts clearly to influence senior leaders.

  • Experience across the full or broad parts of the total reward cycle.

  • Experience conducting job evaluation and salary benchmarking (ideally Willis Towers Watson) and appreciating its practical application in a fast‑moving and diverse business.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail and strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.


Benefits and compensation

Salary: €60,000 – €80,000 (dependent on your specific skills and experience). You’ll also be eligible for an on‑target bonus of 15%.
