Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Return Home Interview Worker to support vulnerable children and young people. This role, based in the City of London, requires working three days in the office and two days remote. Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Bromley Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a Return Home Interview Worker. This role will be: BR1 1AS. Hybrid 3 days in office 2 days remote.

The Atlas Service is a wraparound service which sits within the front door of Children & Families Hub and Referral and Assessment Service of Children’s Social Care. The ATLAS team works with young people who go missing from home or care and those who are at risk of exploitation. Return Home Interview Officers undertake interviews with young people after a missing episode and often help young people make sense of their experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with children and young people following their return home from being missing to explore and understand their reasons, the risks and their experiences whilst they were missing.
  • Work closely with young people, their parents / carers, social workers, and other professionals to reduce the risk of going missing and to increase safety when they are away from home.
  • Provide advice, information and support about services and safety mechanisms young people and parents could use to increase safety.
Qualifications
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable children and young people from a variety of backgrounds and with complex needs and being an advocate for them.
  • Knowledge of how to engage young people as individuals as well as within their peer networks and contexts.
  • Confidence to work with risk that occurs outside of the home e.g. exploitation, substance misuse, missing episodes, peer associations, and difficulties in education.
  • Knowledge of relevant Safeguarding Legislation, Policies and Procedures and able to undertake visits and complete assessments and reports to a good standard.
