A local government authority in Scotland is looking for an experienced professional to provide a range of architectural services. Tasks include ensuring compliance with construction regulations and representing the management on various projects. Candidates should possess qualifications such as HNC in Building and a Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination. Knowledge of energy efficient building design and strong AutoCAD skills are essential. This is a full-time position based in a hybrid model, combining home and office work.
Job Description
Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

You will have HNC in Building, Architectural Technology, or equivalent.
You will have Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management and Professional membership at Technician grade of appropriate professional body.
You will have a Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings (or willing to work towards).
You will provide a complete range of architectural services to the council and its service departments and to external public agencies that meet the domestic standard PAS-2035 compliance where required, all as directed by the Architectural Services Manager.
You will represent the Architectural Services Manager on construction projects and maintenance projects emanating from the Division and to ensure compliance with professional standards and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations as appropriate.
You will have experience in a construction professional role such as Architect / Architectural Technician / Building Surveyor along with sound and extensive knowledge of energy efficient building design, construction techniques and detailing.
Familiarity with contract law and contract conditions, have competent AutoCAD skills, knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM, the ability to run and guide architectural projects from inception to post completion and working knowledge of Microsoft packages eg. O365, Microsoft word Excel etc is essential.
You will have effective time management skills to achieve project objectives, good negotiating skills at all levels, presentation skills and the ability to work with people in other professional disciplines and deal directly with clients.
You will have the ability to undertake site visits and surveys, including working at height, confined spaces, etc.
