Role Overview
We’re seeking a highly skilled e-commerce retoucher with strong technical ability, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working in high-volume environments. The role focuses primarily on e-commerce product imagery. You’ll ensure consistency across all outputs, with a strong emphasis on colour matching, image processing, and product-detail accuracy.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Retouch large volumes of e-commerce product imagery to brand standards
- Perform colour matching, image processing, clean-ups, shape adjustments, and consistency checks across fascias
- Maintain accurate representation of materials, textures, colours, and product details
- Ensure colour accuracy and continuity between product imagery, samples, and campaign references
- Support wider retouching team during peak periods where necessary
- Prepare assets for web: naming, resizing, exports, optimisation, colour profile management
- Maintain a consistent look and feel across all product categories
- Manage daily workload and turnaround times in a fast-paced studio environment
- Maintain organised file structures, workflows, and documentation
- Adhere to e-commerce guidelines across JD UK, International, Street & Outdoors
- Assist with Quality Control checks for e-commerce imagery when required
- Attend and contribute to team meetings
- Maintain general tidiness of studio and equipment
- Respond promptly and positively to emails and other forms of communication
- Work across the studio when required
- Maintain a positive attitude and always strive to find solutions
- Be an advocate for the JD Studio Team
Skills / Experience / Knowledge needed
- 2–4+ years professional e-commerce retouching experience
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
- Keen eye for product details, texture accuracy, and brand consistency
- Strong capability in colour matching and image processing
- Ability to handle high-volume workflows with speed and precision
- Understanding of campaign and paid‑social formats and requirements
- Experience working within a creative team
- Knowledge of colour management, lighting, and digital asset delivery
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of Capture One
- Experience in Quality Control (QC) of e-commerce imagery
- Experience with DAMS and / or CMS / assets delivery systems
- Ability to conduct site walks or content audits for accuracy on live product pages
- Experience with a range of digital productivity, collaboration and project‑management tools
- Familiarity with basic video editing
- Familiarity with actions and automation to improve workflow efficiency
- Familiarity with AI tools to streamline processes
