Overview

Responsive Repairs Planning and Programming Supervisor – closing date 11.02.2026

Salary from £40,914 to £44,094 pa depending on skills and experience. Permanent – Full time – 37 hour per week. Location: Ashford, Kent

Ashford Borough Council is committed to delivering outstanding housing repairs and service. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating repair schedules, tracking performance, and making sure customers receive top-quality repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team handling the scheduling and work-in-progress management, invoicing, contractor liaison, and the end-to-end management of complex repair orders.
  • Lead and manage both the front and back-office Repairs Team to ensure the seamless completion of repairs from end to end.
  • Analysing productivity trends and service demand.
  • Monitoring KPIs and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Overseeing research and information collation on repairs.
  • Supporting the full customer repairs journey and coaching staff to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Maintaining and developing planning guidance, procedures and systems.
  • Tracking outstanding jobs and monitoring timescales.
  • Developing systems, processes and procedures to streamline service delivery.
  • Verifying contractor invoices and supporting finance colleagues with required information.
  • Championing digital transformation, supporting automation and system enhancements.
  • Overseeing compliance with Awaab’s Law, including planning, monitoring and reporting for damp and mould cases.
  • Developing reporting systems for contractor performance, including WIP and KPI monitoring.
  • Leading contractor management processes, including review meetings, documentation, performance monitoring and compliance checks.
Qualifications and attributes

To be competent in this role it is essential that you have strong leadership skills, excellent organisational ability and a deep understanding of responsive repairs and contractor management. You will be confident working with data, comfortable making decisions, and committed to delivering a high-quality service for residents.
