Job summary

A public sector organization in York is recruiting a Residential Children’s Practitioner to support young people aged 11-17 with complex health needs. The role involves flexible evening, weekend, and waking night shifts, providing care and support to young people and their families. Applicants must have experience in complex healthcare and hold a valid DBS. Competitive pay rates are offered.

Qualifications

  • Hold an Enhanced Children’s current valid DBS or be willing to undertake an online enhanced DBS check.

Overview

Do you have experience supporting young adults with complex health needs? Interested in ongoing, flexible work that fits around your personal circumstances?


Work with York Limited are assisting a York based public sector client, with a brand-new service, Together We Can. We are looking to recruit qualified Residential Children’s Practitioner to provide support to children and young people aged between 11 - 17 across the city.


You will be working both evening, weekend and waking nights shifts (10pm - 7am).



Pay

The pay is £17.40 per hour, during the week and £18.98 per hour for the weekend.



Responsibilities


  • Working as part of a specialist team to support children, young people and their families who are on the edge of care, in care or leaving care.

  • Playing a crucial role in a young person’s life, acting as a key worker and developing meaningful relationships built on compassion, respect, and trust.

  • Providing ongoing support to young people and their families who are on the edge of care or supporting them back to their family home or supported lodgings.

  • Providing exceptional care and support when a young person requires coordinated support, whilst living in a residential setting.

  • Supporting a young person requiring therapeutic care, to access the relevant services and provide oversight and pathway co-ordination in and out of health services, in conjunction with multiagency care plans.



Requirements


  • Have experience in supporting young adults with complex health care needs.

  • A driving license and a vehicle for transport.

  • Be eligible to work in the UK.

  • Hold an Enhanced Children’s current valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake an online enhanced DBS check.



Desirable


  • Level 3-4 Children’s and Family practitioner.

  • Level 3-4 certificate in residential childcare.
