You'll support discovery research and lead validation testing, collaborating closely with stakeholders to design studies that showcase the value of a user-centred, data-driven approach to problem-solving. Your actionable insights will empower product teams and stakeholders to improve client outcomes and drive organisational success. You'll also champion collaboration, adhere to best practices and governance, and contribute to the growth and development of the wider research team—helping to build a positive, high-performing culture. HL is going through an exciting period of change, and Design and Research sits at the core of the biggest digital transformation the company has gone through. Our focus is simple: create seamless end-to-end experiences, powered by insight, that put our clients at the center. We’re building a future-fit team of full-stack designers and researchers accountable for crafting intuitive, cohesive journeys, shaping strategy through evidence, bringing clarity to complexity, and championing real user needs. We are overhauling our ways of working to drive greater efficiency, raise the effectiveness of what we deliver and enable opportunity for development and growth. Energised by a shared mission to unlock our collective potential and set a new standard for what design and research can achieve bringing our future vision to life.

What you'll be doing
  • Planning and executing research studies across a range of research methods including usability testing, interviews, and workshops
  • Conducting quantitative analysis through surveys, A/B testing, and data and analytics tools to uncover trends, measure usability, and validate hypotheses
  • Collaborating with senior researchers on broader programs of work, aligning studies to business objectives
  • Analysing and synthesising data into clear, actionable findings
  • Working closely with designers and product managers to iterate based on client feedback
  • Presenting insights and data through concise storytelling, adapted for relevant audiences
  • Helping build and maintain research artifacts including personas, playbooks and insight repositories
  • Actively contributing to team ceremonies and research ops initiatives
  • Experience in UX research or related role(s) with a portfolio of impactful research work across products or platforms
  • Solid understanding of research design and core methodologies including both quantitative (e.g., survey design, statistical analysis, large-scale data interpretation) and qualitative (e.g., ethnography, usability testing, contextual inquiry) research
  • Comfortable operating independently on smaller projects
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with product and design leaders
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and research rigor
  • Emerging stakeholder engagement and storytelling abilities
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiar with tools such as Figma, Dovetail, UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Maze, Lookback, Qualtrics, Tableau, or similar
  • Knowledge of accessibility, inclusive design, and global research practices
