We are looking for Research Midwife to support and deliver clinical research. The individual should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and capable of contributing to the development of research within our midwifery research team.
If you are committed to providing high-quality care to patients and helping them to make the right decisions about their treatment options, with the skills to guide and advise them throughout their research journey, this role could be for you.
You will be instrumental in implementing study objectives and will provide dedicated support to ensure that the study is delivered to time and target.
You will be educated to degree level; you will have post-registration experience of working in a clinical environment.
As a Research Midwife you will be responsible for the recruitment, education, monitoring and follow up of clinical trial patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data. You will also be responsible for all aspects of trial coordination from feasibility to close out.
Post holder will contribute to the development of evidence-based practice and the body of professional knowledge.

The postholder will be a registered midwife and will work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary O&G research team which has been established for more than 10 years. The postholder will maintain the clinical competences required of a clinical midwife.
The post holder will support the development and delivery of clinical research in O&G across the Trust.
Will initiate and manage midwifery activities related to a wide portfolio of clinical research trials, from initiation to close out in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Trust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Work patterns will mainly involve supporting research delivery at Sunderland Royal Hospital, with flexibility in covering O&G research at South Tyneside District General Hospital when required. Post holder will supervise junior members of the team.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
