Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade 8 from £45,390 to £58,263 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £65,236 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution. (Pro-rata if Part-time)

The RDSO service supports the Brunel Research Community to identify and secure external funding from UK and international funders, manage and oversee contractual and compliance aspects of research and innovation projects, facilitate research collaborations with external partners, and manages the commercialisation of our research to deliver societal impact.

Role overview

We are looking for an experienced individual to facilitate growth in the University’s engagement with industrial and collaborative R&D sources, especially grants from Innovate UK. The post holder will work alongside leading academics and non-academic partners at the cutting edge of their fields, promoting funding opportunities, contributing directly to the preparation of proposals and delivering targeted initiatives to improve participation and success rates. As the funding landscape for collaborative research and innovation with partners outside the university sector continues to evolve, this is an exciting opportunity to play a major role in driving new initiatives to support the University’s ambitious research strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Promote funding opportunities and support the preparation of proposals for external funding.
  • Facilitate growth in engagement with industrial and collaborative R&D sources, especially Innovate UK grants.
  • Deliver targeted initiatives to improve participation and success rates in funding applications.
  • Collaborate with academics and external partners to support the University’s research strategy.
Qualifications
  • A first degree and work experience within a Higher Education and/or research environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of collaborative R&D funding schemes.
  • Demonstrable experience of drafting and reviewing grant proposals alongside academic and industrial partners.
