Overview

School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, Centre for Lifestyle Medicine and Behaviour (CLiMB) is seeking an exceptional academic to conduct research in the area of behavioural medicine with a focus on physical activity and cancer care. The post is most suitable for someone with experience of mixed methods research. Applicants must have experience of working as an academic researcher and possess strong organisational skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to communicate with patients from a range of backgrounds. The post holder will contribute to an externally funded project and will be encouraged to explore their own research interests. There is an expectation that the candidate will contribute 10% of their time to teaching activities and will be encouraged to pursue an externally funded fellowship award.

This full-time post is offered on a fixed-term contract for 36 months in the first instance.

Responsibilities

  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent research paper and report writing abilities.
  • Experience with mixed methods research is desirable.
