The Post

Reporting Accountant (PMO) — an exciting opportunity to join the Finance PMO. You will help ensure that finance governance and programme tracking systems operate seamlessly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining critical Finance Registers for Cash Releasing Efficiency Savings (CRES), Cost Pressures, Investments and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Managing the Finance Demand portal by working closely with leads to ensure accurate and timely programme updates.
  • Consolidating financial results at month end for NSS and PHS.
The Candidate

We’re seeking a proactive and analytical professional who can bring structure, insight and energy to our finance and programme operations. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent data management and reconciliation skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Proficiency in tools like Excel, ServiceNow, and financial systems.
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

The post holder will be educated or working towards a CCAB Certificate level (degree level) in a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).

Location and Working Pattern

Location – Flexible with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Work pattern – Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

It is a condition of employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
