Overview

Rent & Service Charge Accountant required to join one of our not for profit organisations based in Liverpool. The role involves calculating, reconciling, and monitoring property service charge income and expenditure and preparing annual budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop accurate service charge budgets, estimates, and year‑end actuals.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular detailed reviews and reconciliations of service charge accounts to identify anomalies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all charges comply with relevant regulations, legislation, and lease obligations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Respond to queries from residents, leaseholders, and internal teams regarding charges.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse large volumes of property financial data to provide actionable insights.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a Service Charge Accountant or similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of service charge legislation and best practices.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for explaining financial information to stakeholders.
