Job summary

A leading Tier 2 structural engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to oversee structural steel projects across the UK. This senior-level role requires proven experience with sizeable projects (500+ tonnes) and offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including project lifecycle management from planning to installation. Strong IT, communication skills, and knowledge of contracts (JCT, NEC) are essential. The position is primarily remote with occasional office and site visits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering 500+ tonne structural steel projects.
• Solid working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle: planning, design coordination, fabrication, installation and commercial delivery.
• Oversee multiple steelwork projects simultaneously.
• Monitor programmes, ensuring deadlines, quality and commercial targets are met.
• Lead client, subcontractor and internal team communication.
• Provide strong commercial and contractual oversight.

Skills

Strong IT skills (Word, Excel)

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to work independently and manage multiple live projects

Education

Degree in Construction Management (or equivalent)
