Job description

A Gynecology Surgical Registrar manages patient care (inpatient/outpatient/emergency) in women's reproductive health, diagnosing conditions, performing/assisting in surgeries (minor like D&C, major like hysterectomy), supervising junior staff, participating in rounds, and ensuring compliance, all under consultant supervision, focusing on comprehensive care from antenatal to postnatal and gynecological issues like fibroids, cysts, etc., while also engaging in audits, teaching, and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Management: Assess, diagnose, and treat gynaecological conditions (fibroids, cysts, infertility, menstrual disorders, prenatal care).
  • Surgical Duties: Assist in and perform minor procedures (D&C, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy) and major surgeries (under supervision).
  • Clinical Operations: Conduct ward rounds, manage emergencies (including labour), supervise house officers, and ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with consultants, nurses, and other specialists for coordinated care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and manage treatment plans.
  • Education & Development: Participate in teaching, audits, quality improvement, and stay updated on advancements.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
