Job description
Overview

Imagine being part of a passionate, supportive team working across two state-of-the-art sites near the Fylde Coast in Lancashire at Norcross Lane (Thornton) and Hambleton. Moy Vets offers a varied environment with opportunities to work across consulting, inpatient care, theatre, dentals, and Schedule 3 procedures. You’ll also run your own daily nurse clinics, with special interests welcomed and encouraged.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver general nursing care across clinical duties, including consulting, inpatient care, theatre, dentals, and Schedule 3 procedures.
  • Run daily nurse clinics and support patients with specialist interests as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with a nursing team and veterinary colleagues to provide high-quality care.
  • Contribute to nurse-led initiatives such as dental staging, K-laser therapy, and planned nurse-led Schedule 3 operation days.
  • Be part of a practice with an in-house out-of-hours service and dedicated inpatient night nurse team for emergency cases.
  • Engage with an expanding service offering and participate in ongoing professional development.
Team and Facilities

Join a nursing team of 14 RVNs and 5 ACAs, working alongside a veterinary team of 10 and a supportive crew of 15. The practice features modern facilities including digital radiography, a dental suite, multiple surgical theatres, Idexx lab equipment, ultrasound, endoscopy, K-laser therapy, and advanced monitoring technology.

Work Schedule

Full-time options include a 40-hour week typically arranged over four days, with a rotating day off or a fixed day off if preferred. Weekend rota is 1-in-6, with brief Saturday and Sunday morning shifts plus on-call duties until 7pm, with retainer and call-out fees paid in addition to salary. Part-time and flexible arrangements are welcome. The recent expansion provides dedicated nursing coverage for out-of-hours shifts during weeknights and weekends, so you will not be required to undertake these duties.

  • Infection prevention and control programme and Quality Improvement Programme
  • VDS cover and RCVS fees
  • Pawsome Benefits with discounts and cashback
