Medivet Oadby is a friendly small animal practice with a loyal client base, and we’re excited to be recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive team.

Our practice is fully equipped with modern facilities, including an in‑house laboratory, operating theatre, digital x‑ray, and dental suite—everything you need to provide high‑quality care.

The Role:

• Hours: Wednesday to Friday, 8:30 am – 7:00 pm (30‑minute lunch)
• Weekends: 1 in 6 Saturdays and Sundays (early or late shift) at our Medivet Thurmaston 24‑Hour hospital – with time off in lieu
• Fair share of bank holiday/on‑call rota

You’ll be part of a close-knit, experienced team including our Lead Vet Gillian, Head Veterinary Nurse, RVN, SVN, and CCA—all dedicated to delivering the best care for our patients.

Located opposite The Parade, Oadby’s popular shopping area, the practice is surrounded by shops, cafés, and restaurants, with convenient nearby bus routes.

Role Accountabilities

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
• Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
• Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Hold briefings to engage and co‑ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
