Our service is evolving and we need 2 enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nursing Associates to join the Assessment and Treatment in-patient unit at Townend Court.

The nursing associate are new posts and therefore the successful applicants will join a team of skilled nurses and healthcare assistants who have patient care and Humber Trust values at the core of their practice. Learning Disability services have been changing and continue to evolve to meet the clinical demands of a modern inpatient facility.

The skills you will need in order to maximise your potential in this role include the ability to provide and monitor care, improve safety and the quality of care that we provide, work well in a team and contribute to coordinated care.

The successful candidates will be valued members of a multi-disciplinary team and have the opportunity to develop their own skills in working with patients with complex and challenging needs to achieve measurable and genuine outcomes that are life enhancing for them.

The posts offer an excellent and exciting opportunity to develop clinical expertise and will allow scope for personal and professional development within a friendly and supported environment .

Main duties of the job

Communicate complex and sensitive information verbally and in writing.Be able to engage in positive relationships with patients/carers/families and other staff based on respect and within appropriate boundaries.Act in a professional capacity at all times.Be able to confidently and accurately convey patient information in the role of an associated nurse.Be able to identify unsafe practice and respond appropriately.Accurately record patient information in accordance with Trust procedures.

Qualifications and Knowledge
  • Registered nursing associate on the NMC register
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the role of the Nursing Associate within the MDT
  • Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained in the code.
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to appropriate professional for expert help and advice.
  • Basic IT skills
  • Knowledge of basic assessments, including risk and the ability to identify needs and care planning.
  • A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical and service area.
  • Experience of administering prescribed medicines safely and appropriately
Experience
  • Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
