Job description

The Paediatric Emergency Department at Sunderland Royal Hospital and the Childrens Urgent Care Centre at South Tyneside are looking to recruit a motivated and dynamic qualified childrens nurse to join their team in delivering quality urgent and emergency nursing care to the paediatric population.

The successful candidate will be joining a team of over 70 experienced qualified nurses, nurse practitioners and health care assistants who see and treat in excess of 40,000 patients across both sites each year and will be involved in all aspects of nursing care to children with conditions ranging from minor trauma through to major medical presentations. This is an exciting time for individual development as we respond to the evolving demand of urgent and emergency care delivery across Sunderland and South Tyneside. The post holder will be based at Sunderland Royal Hospital but will rotate between the Paediatric Emergency Department at SRH and the Childrens Urgent Care Unit at South Tyneside District Hospital on a regular basis to enhance their skills and knowledge in care delivery to children requiring non‑urgent, urgent and emergency treatment.
