Job description
Overview

We are looking for an innovative hands-on nurse (RGN RMN or RNLD) with an active pin to join our team at St Anne's. This is an exciting time as we roll out online platforms to enhance the experience of clients and staff. Our support team are committed to providing the best possible care to clients while promoting independence. Working alongside the existing nursing team, they help facilitate clients living their best life. This is a "Life Without Limits" approach that is the St Anne's way.

Responsibilities
  1. Supporting the manager in ensuring that all staff within the service are recruited, developed, supported and managed in a professional manner.
  2. With the manager, addressing the training and development needs of staff and ensuring they are reviewed against St. Anne's service objectives.
  3. With the manager, addressing personal development and training needs through PREP and a professional portfolio based on service objectives.
  4. Supporting the manager in maintaining the quality of the service within the defined area.
  5. Supporting the manager in ensuring staff comply with St. Anne's values, policies and procedures and that legal/contractual obligations are met.
  6. Supporting the manager in ensuring the service has access to and uses current thinking and practice in service delivery.
  7. Contributing to the future development of St. Anne's by highlighting opportunities within corporate aims, including contributions to policy, procedures and service development.
  8. Monitoring clinical practice and standards of care, implementing policies/practice guidelines and relevant legislation, and taking corrective action when required.
  9. Working with the Project Manager and others to manage risk assessment, prioritisation and planning of admissions and discharges from the service.
  10. Supporting the manager in establishing and maintaining effective links within the team and with other organisations and agencies where applicable.
  11. Deputising for the manager in their absence.
  12. Carrying out specific roles and duties within the home as agreed with the manager.
  13. Communicating effectively within the workplace, team, and organisation.
  14. Ensuring resources are used appropriately and steps are taken to avoid fuel/energy waste.
  15. Maximising opportunities for client participation.
  16. Assessing student nurses where appropriate and supporting support assistants with learning and development needs as required by the service.
  17. Working independently to assess and plan to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of clients presenting in crisis, during detoxification and rehabilitation.
  18. Planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care in consultation with clients, utilising a primary nursing system and liaising with other involved disciplines.
  19. Ensuring care provision complies with applicable legislation and service requirements.
  20. Working with clients in discharge planning, exploring ongoing support and treatment options and liaising with other agencies as appropriate.
  21. Initiating and maintaining continuous therapeutic relationships with clients through relevant nursing practices and monitoring interventions.
  22. Working flexibly to meet changing service needs, including out-of-hours/unsocial shift patterns.
