A healthcare organization in Maidstone is seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist with at least one year's experience at Band 6. The role involves providing a telephone advice service to police officers and liaising with various clinical teams. Please note, at this stage, the role is open only to internal staff (including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation) and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any individual who is at risk of redundancy will be given priority, provided they meet the essential criteria.
We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist for this role with at least one year's experience at a Band 6.
You will provide a telephone advice service to police officers, speak to individuals who are with the police and distressed and consider the best way to support the individual at that particular time. The aim of the service is to avoid detaining an individual under S136 if an alternative service would provide a less restrictive option. You will be supported in your decision making by Band 7 clinicians who are available 24hrs.
You will liaise with clinicians in the CRHT, CMHT SPoA, CMHSOPS, Safe Haven and Acute hospitals as well as the Police and will also be supported by a Band 4 Senior Support Worker who will manage the patient flow through the Places of Safety and support the phone lines.
