Job summary

A leading health organization in Stevenage is seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join its Mental Health Urgent Care Centre. This role will involve delivering crisis assessment and treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should have a Mental Health Nursing diploma and be registered with the NMC. The position offers a full-time permanent contract with a salary range of £31,049 to £37,796 per year.

Qualifications

Registered Mental Health Nurse

We are seeking to recruit Band 5 nurse assessors to join our new Mental Health Urgent Care Centre, based at The Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

The role will deliver Crisis assessment and treatment in an innovative Urgent Care Centre environment. [There are no night shifts for band 5]

The Mental Health Urgent Care Centre will operate with an enhanced specialist multidisciplinary team, focusing on improving the experience and outcomes for service users, carers, and staff, alongside supporting acute colleagues in the system by enabling the acute hospital to operate and improve ED performance and quality of care.

The service will operate 24/7 and will be a multi-disciplinary, cross sector service that is practitioner-led and supported by social care, voluntary sector partners and Lived Experience Workers.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • to assist with the daily clinical duties within MHUCC
  • medication rounds
  • involvement in clinical reviews
  • band 5 are not expected to carry out assessments
  • to support the team in the clinical duties within the unit
  • to take part in audits
  • to participate in reviews and MDTS
  • medication rounds
  • participate in supervision and PDPs

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING
  • RMN\Dip (Mental)
  • Live registration with NMC Mentorship & Preceptorship after one year.
  • Appropriate post registration Qualification
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
  • Detailed knowledge of legislation and practise guidelines concerning Adult Acute Mental Health
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with staff, service users and all other stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Working with people detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
  • Provision of effective clinical supervision Ability to participate in training of others - students and other team members.
