Job summary

A well-established care provider in Bridgwater is seeking a Registered Manager for a new EBD children's home. About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established care provider for a Registered Manager to open and lead a brand-new EBD children’s home in the Bridgwater (TA6) area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager to take the next step—to shape a new service from the ground up, build a passionate care team, and create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and registration of the new 4-bed EBD home.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 7–9 care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 5.
  • Oversee care planning, safeguarding, and behaviour management to support positive outcomes for young people.
  • Build effective relationships with external professionals, families, and placing authorities.
  • Drive performance, occupancy, and quality within the home.
  • Promote a culture of care, respect, and ambition for both staff and residents.
About You
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children’s residential care standards.
  • Previous experience managing or deputising within an EBD setting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.Passionate about creating a supportive, child-centred home with a focus on positive outcomes.
