Overview

Business Development Manager – Salary: Competitive plus car/cash allowance, bonus & pension. Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Location: Hybrid, covering Northampton/Colchester/Cambridge/Peterborough/Norwich.

What you'll be doing
  • Drive growth across our key markets in East England by securing large regional waste contracts across the private sector.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to evolve and deliver the strategic growth plan for your territory.
  • Grow the pipeline of prospects, nurture relationships, understand customer needs, and demonstrate Veolia value; supported by internal resources to qualify and nurture opportunities.
  • Lead major tenders and proposals in your region, creating engaging propositions to move organisations to Veolia.
  • Support integration of new customers through contract implementation and ensure a smooth handover to the Account Manager.
  • Help organisations in your territory deliver on sustainability objectives and contribute to Veolia's purpose and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
What we're looking for
  • Experience in identifying business opportunities and developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Financial acumen and bid writing skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a competitive market.
  • Creativity, initiative, problem-solving, strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the waste sector is an advantage but not essential.
