The Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we are recruiting for a Regional Business Manager for the Central UK area. As a Regional Business Manager you will implement the commercial strategy to align and partner with the NHS and private sectors, maximizing the division’s sales and margin goals within the rapid molecular diagnostic sector.

Region of responsibility: Midlands, Manchester, Yorkshire and Newcastle

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As the Regional Business Manager, you will lead a regional team of 5-10 commercial professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve regional sales revenue targets by developing and implementing an effective, bespoke regional strategy.
  • Manage, motivate, and support the Key Account Manager (KAM), Business Development Manager (BDM) and Product Application Support (PAS) team.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers in key accounts, including clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
  • Identify and capitalize on partnership opportunities with the NHS and private market to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Recruit, deploy, and redeploy staff within the geographical area.
  • Develop local sales solutions and strategies in collaboration with the UK Head of Sales.
  • Manage the P&L and SLAs with the assigned accounts and lead the Account Management process.
  • Manage and develop relationships with KOLs and identify opportunities for partnerships.
  • Implement and monitor marketing strategies and promotional campaigns across the product and portfolio.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, coaching and effective talent management and succession planning of the commercial team.

This is a regional field-based role with a lot of travelling anticipated (75%) within the UK.

Required qualifications/Profile

Qualifications

  • Previous commercial experience in the medical devices industry.
  • Detailed knowledge of rapid diagnostic and POCT industry practices in a relevant clinical field.
  • Thorough knowledge of the UK healthcare industry, NHS, and private healthcare providers.
  • Consistent track record of achieving profitable growth.
  • Demonstrable success in negotiation and securing contracts.
  • Working knowledge of leases and managed services.
  • Experience delivering change initiatives and facilitating change in a customer-focused organization.
  • Innovative thinking and ability to challenge current practices.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
