Working in healthcare is more than just a job. It’s a chance to change lives. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to recruit to the position of Assistant Psychologist to join our psychology and therapy department in our Learning Disability & Autism services in the North & Midlands.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team to support service users across a number of small complex care services, and residential care homes in Yorkshire (Barnsley & Rotherham) and potentially other services within the Yorkshire & Midlands region.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autistic adults, and a passion to learn and develop, to join our friendly team in the region.
As an Assistant Psychologist, working 37.5 hours a week, you will assist in clinically related activities and administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, and training of staff. You will engage with the multidisciplinary team and ensure that the service users are fully engaged in their care pathway.
Your role will include a significant focus on providing behavioural support to Autistic adults and adults with a Learning Disability. You will develop and implement individualised behavioural support plans based on service users’ needs and goals, including encouraging independence and development of life skills with a focus on improving quality of life.
You will be responsible for functional behaviour assessments and observations, positive behavioural support planning and implementations, incident analysis and facilitating PBS workshops and other training programmes.
Training opportunities will be available for the successful candidate along with clinical and management supervision.
The role involves travelling to different services within a geographical region so a driving licence and access to a car would be required to fulfil this role.
