Refinement Operative

Job location: Barking, IG11 area

Pay rate: £13.89 per hour once trained will be £16.04. weekly pay, every Friday

Schedule: Monday to Friday 12:00-22:00 Initially shift will be 07:00 - 15:00 and once fully trained the more permanent shift will be 14:00 - 22:00 and every other Saturday

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a Refinement Operative to join our successful client based in the Barking, IG11 area. Our client is a Local Recycling Centre & Collection Points for residents.

Refinement Operative - Duties & Responsibilities

As a Refinement Operative you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day working within the refinement area of the Bio MRF operation.

• Ensuring that this section is kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Responsible for providing light maintenance of equipment.
• Managing plant performance, which may include unblocking blockages within the plant assets.
• Loading and checking of the RDF/SRF fuel via company procedures.
• Reporting of near misses & safety related incidents.
• Contribute to the Refinement facility being compliant with environmental permit and fly control measures.
• Drive multiple pieces of mobile plant within the refinement section.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is worn.
• End of shift checks.
• Conveyor waste monitoring.
• Mobile Plant level 1 jobs.

Refinement Operative - Person Specification

• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Knowledge of MRF plant operations advantageous.
• Good organisational skills.
• Good understanding of process figures with a drive to hit targets.
• Experience of working in Waste Management & understanding of waste management regulations is an advantage.
