Overview
The Recruitment Manager will lead and manage the Direct recruitment team to deliver timely and cost-effective high-volume recruitment campaigns across the group. The role will lead a team of recruiters, partnering closely with HR Business Partners, Site General Managers, and operational teams to meet staffing requirements and support business growth. In addition to this, the role will also support sites with any queries concerning temporary agency use with our preferred partners. Ownership for:
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership - Manage and develop a team of recruiters, ensuring high performance and adherence to best practices. Set clear objectives, provide coaching, and foster a culture of collaborative and continuous improvement.
- Volume Recruitment Delivery - Oversee end-to-end recruitment for Warehouse Operatives, Production Operatives and Drivers across multiple sites. Implement innovative sourcing strategies to attract high volumes of candidates quickly. Ensure compliance with legal and company standards throughout the recruitment process.
- Data & Insight - Own and monitor recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, fill rates) and provide data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity.
- Process & Performance Optimisation - Drive continuous improvement in recruitment processes, technology usage (ATS - automation and AI), and candidate engagement.
- Stakeholder Management - Build strong relationships with HRBPs, Site GMs, and operational leaders to understand workforce needs. Act as a trusted advisor on recruitment strategies, market trends, and candidate experience. Attend meetings with BU leadership teams to present on performance and market insight.
- Strategic Workforce Planning - Partner with HR and business leaders to forecast hiring needs, develop a workforce plan and proactive sourcing strategies to deliver this.
- Compliance & Reporting - Ensure adherence to right-to-work checks and other regulatory requirements. Provide regular reporting on recruitment performance to senior stakeholders.
- Supplier & Agency Management - working closely with the Staffline teams who manage agency labour, and also supporting our sites with any queries relating to agency performance and governance.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in a high-volume recruitment within warehouse and logistics environments in large scale, multi-site organisations (£1bn+) with complex recruitment needs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Data-driven approach with ability to analyse and act on recruitment metrics.
- Knowledge of recruitment technology (ATS) and sourcing tools having delivered automation and AI functionality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
