A leading mental health service provider in London seeks a CAMHS Practitioner CYP-PT. This is a unique training role that combines hands-on practice in the South Camden Community CAMHS Team with academic training at King's College London. Applicants must have a relevant professional qualification and experience working with children in mental health settings. The position offers a chance to acquire systemic intervention skills while earning a salary of £46,419 to £55,046 per year.
Recruit To Train - CAMHS Practitioner CYP-PT: Therapy Trainee - Systemic, Conduct. An NHSE funded training post as part of the CYP Psychological Trainings (formerly CYP-IAPT) which involves some time working as a Practitioner in South Camden Community CAMHS Team [SCCT] and some time studying with King's College London undertaking a programme of training in systemic interventions for young people and families. The Postgraduate Diploma in CYP-PT Therapies in Systemic Family Practice (SFP) starts in January 2026 and will be completed over 1 year, finishing in December 2026. Students attend university teaching on Mondays and Tuesdays over three terms. For the remainder of the week you will be seeing young people and their families in your service where you will be applying what you learn on the course.
This intensive training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions for children, young people or families using the core principles of the CYP Psychological Training Programme and consistent with the evidence base in the area of systemic interventions. The post-holder will work in the service, for at least 2.5 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme or undertaking self-study days for the remaining days, as required by the education provider. The Systemic Family Practice course has two strands: Depression & Self Harm and Conduct Disorder OR Eating Disorders. All students begin with a Basic Systemic Skills module which will introduce a range of systemic approaches for working with families from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds and where you will learn a range of systemic techniques and interventions. The post holder will hold an appropriate training case load and complete the necessary assignments to meet the course requirements.
