Job summary

A substance misuse charity in Dumfries is seeking Recovery Workers to provide support for individuals facing drug and alcohol dependencies. You will develop tailored recovery plans and coordinate care with various service providers. This contract role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in the community. Drug and Alcohol Recovery Worker - Dumfries and Galloway (£18.00 per hour)

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for experienced Recovery Workers to work across Dumfries and Galloway within a respected Substance Misuse Charity and community outreach service. This is a contract role offering the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of individuals impacted by substance misuse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide structured 1:1 and group support to service users with drug and/or alcohol dependencies
  • Develop and manage recovery-focused support plans tailored to individual goals
  • Work closely with clinical teams, housing providers, and social workers to coordinate care
  • Offer harm reduction advice, relapse prevention strategies, and motivational support
  • Assist clients with housing sustainment, benefits, and community integratio
Qualifications
  • Experience in substance misuse services
  • Ideally knowledge of psychosocial interventions, housing support, or trauma-informed care
