A healthcare practice is seeking a Medical Receptionist/Care Navigator who will assist the practice team and engage with patients. The ideal candidate should have experience in customer service and a background in GP reception. Responsibilities include managing appointments, processing all types of requests, and supporting clinical staff. Training is provided, and the environment emphasizes patient care and teamwork. This is a part-time, permanent position based in Sunderland.
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and committed team player for the role of Medical Receptionist/Care Navigator.
Recent general practice medical reception experience would be an advantage.
Part Time, 1 post
Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Receive, assist and signpost patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Whitburn Surgery are run by South Tyneside Health Collaboration – a federation of South Tyneside GP Practices, which already runs another practice in the borough.
There may be a need to work across our other sites based in South Tyneside.
The successful candidate will work alongside our existing reception team overseen by our Reception Lead.
We are a supportive and friendly team of professionals who put patient care and staff well‑being at the forefront.
We provide on‑going training for staff.
The successful candidate will be able to work using their own initiative, have good resilience skills, together with being an excellent team member.
They must be able to communicate and engage effectively with all team members and external agencies as well as our patients.
