Job description

Large commercial law firm in London is looking to recruit a Real Estate Litigation lawyer with 1 or more years’ PQE.

The team acts for investors, developers, landlords, tenants, financiers, and others involved in commercial real estate on a range of disputes. Their clients include household names. They also advise on ad hoc residential issues arising from commercial/mixed-use real estate matters.

The team handles a wide range of areas, including:

  1. Contested site assembly
  2. Rights of light and other easements and possession issues
  3. Possession claims (trespassers/squatters)
  4. Insolvency and transactional disputes
  5. Professional negligence
  6. Restrictive covenants
  7. Business rates
  8. Disputes over Compulsory Purchase Orders and compensation
  9. Telecommunications Act issues
  10. Leasehold enfranchisement

The team also manages landlord and tenant disputes, including lease renewals, rent reviews, lease terminations, dilapidations, and service charge disputes. They collaborate closely with transactional real estate teams and provide dispute advisory services for acquisitions and disposals.

The team is known for its advocacy-focused approach, emphasizing written documentation. They support team members in qualifying for Higher Rights through in-house courses as part of their training program.

The successful candidate will also help raise the team's profile by engaging with external bodies, attending marketing and industry events, and assisting with internal training and legal precedent development.
