Real Estate Finance Lawyer (5+ years') – Edinburgh or Glasgow

A leading UK law firm is seeking an experienced Lawyer to join its growing Real Estate Finance team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is an opportunity to work within a highly regarded finance and restructuring practice, advising on complex real estate finance and distressed property matters across the UK market.

The role involves close collaboration with banking, finance and restructuring colleagues and offers exposure to high-value, sophisticated transactions for a broad client base including lenders, investors and insolvency practitioners. The team is well known for its technical strength, commercial approach and commitment to developing its people.

The role will involve:
  • Advising on the property aspects of real estate finance transactions, including security and title matters
  • Supporting lenders and insolvency practitioners on distressed real estate and enforcement scenarios
  • Leading and managing transactions from start to finish
  • Delivering clear, practical and commercially focused advice to clients
  • Mentoring and supervising Junior Lawyers, contributing to team development
  • Supporting business development initiatives and building strong client relationships
You will have:
  • At least 5 years' PQE with strong experience in real estate finance
  • UK qualification (Scots or England & Wales); dual qualification beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent drafting, technical and organisational skills
  • A collaborative, leadership-focused approach
  • A commercial mindset and interest in innovation within legal service delivery
