A leading NHS Trust is looking for a Band 6 Registered Nurse or Paramedic to join Camden Rapid Access Services. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in acute care, be comfortable with top-to-toe examinations, and adept at working independently within the community. Responsibilities include supporting patient care at home to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. Flexible shift patterns are available, offering various benefits including NHS pension and employee assistance programs.
Camden Rapid Access Services (RAS) is a physical health admission avoidance and supported early discharge service. It has three pathways: Discharge to Assess, Urgent Community Response and Virtual Ward. The potential post holder will work across all three pathways within Camden RAS. Ideally, the applicant should possess a valid UK driving licence (a car will be provided when required), although suitable non‑driving candidates will be considered and provided with an Oyster card while on shift. Non‑driving practitioners are expected to undertake the same number of visits per day as driving colleagues. Are you a Registered Nurse or Paramedic seeking a new challenging role in the community? Camden RAS is currently seeking to employ a Band 6 Registered Nurse or Paramedic with substantial experience in acute care (e.g. A&E, AMU, ITU, Paramedic). The ideal candidate will be confident in top‑to‑toe examination and succinct history taking. Our overall aim is to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, in line with the NHS Long Term Plan. The benefits of keeping patients in their own homes are numerous and varied, from reducing health‑care acquired infections to promoting ongoing independence. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working in our healthcare settings.
Lone Working: This role regularly involves working independently in patients' homes or within the community, including during evening hours when it may be dark. Robust safety systems are in place, and we maintain an excellent safety record.
