  • Safe operation of the rails mobile & static plants inclusive of rail load out and rail weighbridges
  • in order to meet the specified product quality and quantities in accordance with quality systems & work instructions.
  • General cleaning and the clearance of any plant spillages that occur during the shift.
  • Ensure that trains, wagons are received, stored and loaded as per sites instructions.
  • To carry out small maintenance and inspections as required/instructed.
  • Visually inspect the rail, and all other associated plant and processes at regular intervals to identify and rectify any problems that are found, or the reporting of problems that cannot be rectified during normal operations.
  • Health and Safety of one self and all others within the rail demarcation.
  • Reporting of all accidents, near misses and hazards to the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Promote safe, efficient and effective use of all site resources.
  • Assist in the completion of risk assessments and method statements for every activity/task.
  • Ensure that the rail assets are kept in good working order and are cleaned at regular intervals.
  • Comply with and be actively involved in SHE and Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Advice on the cost of repairs, replacements and maintenance issues.
  • Diagnose faults
  • Flexibility to cover other roles, within the job holder's capabilities, as defined by Quarry Manager or site supervisors.
  • Advise on foreseeable maintenance requirements and essential spares.
  • Keep accurate machine/maintenance repair records.
  • Deal with Technical requirements.
  • Operation of PPM Scheme.
