A leading cancer research institution in the UK seeks a Radiology Research Fellow to conduct imaging research and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The role focuses on functional imaging methods and requires a primary medical degree along with current training in Diagnostic Radiology. This position offers valuable research training in a supportive environment dedicated to cancer treatment and research.
Applications are invited for the post of Radiology Research Fellow based in the Department of Radiology. The Drug Development Unit, a designated Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, is widely regarded as the worldwide leader in phase I clinical trials. We have our own dedicated in‑patient and day‑care (and some outpatient facilities) unit, Oak Ward, within the Royal Marsden.
This is a research‑focused training opportunity in functional imaging and imaging research methods. The post‑holder will learn about Functional Research Ultra Sound, whole‑body MRI, and apply image‑analysis tools to evaluate imaging datasets, working within a multidisciplinary environment with the Drug Development Unit and Prostate Targeted Therapy Group. The fellowship will be supervised by Dr. Nina Tunariu.
The Royal Marsden is a world leader in cancer research, treatment and education. Together with our academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), we are the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe and the only National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre specialising in cancer in the UK. Our mission is to continue to make a national and international contribution to cancer research and treatment, so that more people are cured and quality of life is improved for those with cancer.
The Royal Marsden values diversity and is committed to the recruitment and retention of under‑represented minority groups. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates and candidates with disabilities. As a Disability Confident Employer, we are working to create a workplace that enables all staff to reach their full potential.
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune‑compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the utmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient‑facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
