Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a reliable clinical and administrative assistant to join the Radiology Team at Kettering General Hospital. The expectation will be that the post holder will undertake training specific to Nuclear Medicine and complete a competency assessment to aid Radiographers in the Nuclear Medicine Department. You will facilitate in the smooth organisation of the Nuclear Medicine department including making appointments, liaising with patients, doctors and other hospital staff. You will also have the opportunity to work in Ultrasound and X-Ray, to support Radiographers and Radiologists in clinical and non-clinical environments. You will be required to maintain good team working and responsible for administration tasks related to imaging examinations.,

  • Welcoming patients to the department.
  • Assist patients in dressing and undressing, use of toilet facilities and chaperoning, as required. Ensure privacy and dignity of patients is maintained throughout their visit.
  • Undertake administrative duties in relation to the patient's examination using the Radiology Information System. This will include liaising with Consultants and Radiologists.
  • Booking appointments and keeping regular checks on the appointment diary and waiting lists.
  • Speaking to patients on the telephone and sorting out queries.
  • Assisting the radiographer during examinations and preparing equipment for examinations.
  • Checking stock levels and cleaning clinical areas.
  • Participating in contamination monitoring, daily camera checks, TLD distribution, ordering isotopes and checking radiopharmaceutical doses.
