Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of patient care within the Radiology department.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties including cleaning specialist equipment.
  • Make up slides of biopsy samples for microscopic examination.
  • Work cross-site between various hospitals as required.
  • Maintain privacy and dignity of all patients in the department.
  • Ensure patient care needs are addressed while in Radiology.
  • Assist patients with undressing and preparation for examinations.
  • Act as a chaperone for patients as required.
  • Clean radiological equipment as per departmental procedures.
  • Assist patients and staff with specific tests and examinations.
Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team and develop new skills in the world of Radiology. The successful candidate will involve working on a rota, with extended days and weekends.

You will support the work of the Radiology Department to assist Radiologists and Radiographers in performing a range of Radiological procedures, including Ultrasound and CT.

We have a new state of the art Emergency Department which opened in April 2019 with dedicated DR X Ray rooms, Ultrasound and a CT scanner. The successful applicant will be expected to rotate into this area from the main X‑Ray department, US and CT.

This is a rotational post between the newly opening Slough Community Diagnostic Centre at Upton, Wexham Park Hospital (Slough), Heatherwood Elective Centre (Ascot), St Mark's Hospital (Maidenhead) and King Edward's VII Hospital (Windsor).

Key Responsibilities
  • To assist in all aspects of patient care within the Radiology department.
  • To assist with housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning specialist equipment.
  • To make up slides of biopsy samples for microscopic examination by Histology / Pathology.
  • To work cross‑site between Wexham Park hospital in Slough, Heatherwood Hospital Ascot, King Edwards VII in Windsor and St Marks in Maidenhead as and when required.
