A local NHS Trust in Essex is seeking a Radiation Protection Technician to support compliance with Radiation Safety legislation. The role entails performing routine equipment surveys, investigating faults, and collaborating on quality control. Experience with x-rays is beneficial, alongside a full clean driving license. This varied role supports the radiation protection team across multiple sites.

The department provides Radiation Protection, Medical Physics and Radiology Physics services to the MSE Trusts across Essex including Southend, Basildon and Broomfield hospitals, and some private sites. This involves supporting departments using X-rays to achieve compliance with Radiation Safety legislation (IRR17 and IR(ME)R17) and operate with good radiation safety practice.
The duties vary as the work of the department is quite varied. Experience of working with x-rays or similar very beneficial. Radiographers are welcome to apply - but please note this is not a radiographer job.
Other requirements: You will be expected to deliver quality control tests on a range of x-ray equipment at a number of different sites and must have a full clean driving license and preferably use of a car – though a trust vehicle is available.
