This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys practical work, problem solving and getting involved across a wide range of technologies.

You will support the development of advanced sensing and prototype systems used in real‑world trials. The work is varied, fast‑moving and ideal for someone who enjoys learning new skills, experimenting and helping to turn early‑stage concepts into functioning hardware and software.

The Role

  • Carry out hands‑on electronics tasks including soldering, wiring, PCB assembly and basic troubleshooting.
  • Use CAD tools and 3D printing equipment to create custom mechanical parts.
  • Operate laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies.
  • Support experiments and field trials, including data capture, measurement and practical setup tasks.
  • Record findings clearly and contribute to technical reports, documentation and presentations.
  • Work closely with engineers and scientists to support day‑to‑day project activities.
  • Take ownership of tasks and apply a methodical, detail‑focused approach to problem solving.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in engineering, physics or a related discipline.
  • Practical, hands‑on experience with electronics, lab test equipment or prototyping.
  • Familiarity with CAD or 3D printing tools is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable working across multiple engineering areas and learning new skills quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a small, multi‑disciplinary team.
  • UK national and eligible for security clearance.
Benefits
  • 25 days holiday plus additional Christmas shutdown
  • Private medical plan
