Job description

Title: R&D Laboratory Technician

Location: Amesbury, Wiltshire

Salary: 27,000 - 29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

SRG is exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturer in the food industry, now looking to hire a Laboratory Technician to join their R&D team at their site near Amesbury. This opportunity is suitable for a recent scientific graduate passionate about the food industry and eager to start a career in a laboratory setting.

Benefits: Graduate opportunity with full training provided and potential to develop skills in Food R&D within a supportive and inclusive environment. Enhanced pension contributions, a company bonus scheme, 38.75 working hours per week, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (with options to buy up to 5 extra days).

Role / Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting senior staff with customer development briefs
  2. Mixing and preparing samples in the laboratory
  3. Testing samples in food products with the applications laboratory
  4. Maintaining raw materials and consumables databases
  5. Ordering supplies and maintaining laboratory housekeeping

Requirements:

  1. Recent graduation in Chemistry, Food Science, Natural Sciences, Biochemistry, or similar
  2. Passion for food science and the wider food industry
  3. Accuracy in weighing and measuring raw materials
  4. Self-motivated, proactive, with a willingness to learn
  5. Excellent communication skills for effective interdepartmental communication
  6. Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities as needed
