Compensation: $42-$47.75 per hour

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented R&D Chemist to join our Advanced Packaging Laboratory and Clean Room team in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This position supports the development, optimization, and commercialization of new materials for semiconductor packaging, including metal plating, photoresists, and dielectric products. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in laboratory operations and clean room environments, performing synthesis, formulation, coating, lamination, and material testing. This role involves close collaboration with global project teams to achieve development milestones, optimize formulations, and support process integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on lab and clean room processing of material formulations, including coating, curing, metrology, and analysis at wafer and panel levels.
  • Support formulation development, thermal and mechanical analysis, and process optimization.
  • Execute project workflows such as laminations, coatings, lithography, and cure techniques.
  • Conduct analytical testing using tools such as CVS, HPLC, UPLC, GPC, % solids, titrations, potentiostatic measurements, surface tension, cloud point, densitometer, and rheometer.
  • Collaborate with analytical and engineering teams to collect, interpret, and present data.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate findings clearly to cross‑functional and global teams.
  • Adhere to all safety, product integrity, and environmental stewardship standards.
  • Support additional prototyping and development initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    - B.S. or Associate degree in a scientific or technical discipline.
    - 1–2 years of hands‑on industrial experience in a semiconductor fab or similar clean room environment.
    - Familiarity with wafer‑level processing, material characterization, and thin‑film analysis.
    - Experience with thermal and mechanical analysis tools and techniques.
    - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English fluency required.
  • Preferred:
    - Experience with analytical equipment for chemical, mechanical, and thermal analysis.
    - Familiarity with inspection tools such as confocal or scanning electron microscopes.
    - Hands‑on experience with organic or polymer synthesis to support materials development.
    - Experience with applications testing, quality control, or process qualification.
    - Curiosity, creativity, and a collaborative mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
    - Enthusiasm for wafer‑ or panel‑level material formulation in high‑performance environments.
