Qualifications

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Social Housing sector, working on multiple contracts.
  • Understanding of JCT and Measure Term Contracts; Price per property (PPP) experience is desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.

  • Assist in the preparation of estimates, bids, and tenders.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
  • Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the Client.

Overview

Quantity Surveyor (Responsive Repairs) • Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing – Responsive Repairs). Based: Yeovil or Bristol office; Hybrid role - working Monday to Friday, typically 8.30am – 5.00pm. Great opportunity at Novus to work on a long-term Social Housing framework contract. You will play a crucial part in delivering the commercials on our contract with autonomy in your role, allowing you to make a significant impact. Our focus is on Social Housing Responsive repairs and void works within tenanted properties, with the opportunity to work both from home/office and on site, collaborating with your team in an inclusive and fair environment.

The role is to obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated refurbishment/projects, liaising with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
  • Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
  • Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the Client/Client’s representative.
  • Prepare monthly valuation reports.
  • Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time.
  • Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and/or Clients/Customers, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Monitor the contract progress, assess, and report any changes affecting project costs and/or timescale.
  • Assist in the control of contract budgets.
About You
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Social Housing sector, working on multiple contracts; responsive repairs knowledge is advantageous.
  • Understanding of JCT and Measure Term Contracts; Price per property (PPP) experience is desirable.
  • Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills with MS Office; Full UK Driving Licence (travel is required).
  • DBS check may be required.
