Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, highways or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant quantity surveying software.
  • A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial elements of civil engineering and highways schemes from start to finish.
  • Prepare valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow to ensure profitability.
  • Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
  • Produce accurate cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Liaise closely with project teams, clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks.

Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring commercial success and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all commercial elements of civil engineering and highways schemes from start to finish.

  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement within the commercial department.
What you will need to succeed
