Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a civil engineering contractor based in the northeast of Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing costs, value, and commercial performance on a high-value infrastructure project, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong working relationships and clear communication with project stakeholders including clients, project managers, and engineering teams
  • Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and present findings to senior management
  • Prepare and submit Applications for Payment in line with contract deadlines
  • Commercially manage subcontractors, including assessing payment applications, compensation events, and agreeing final accounts
  • Participate in client meetings, providing professional input and advice
  • Prepare and submit monthly project cash flow forecasts
  • Monitor and report on contractual risks and opportunities, keeping the wider team informed
  • Ensure familiarity with and application of the Integrated Management System across all project activities
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a background in civil engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with timelines and quality standards
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Full UK driving licence
